Finalistler arasında Türk girişimci Hamdi Ulukaya'nın sahibi olduğu Chobani yoğurt da yer aldı. 42 adayın yer aldığı finalistlerden kazanan isim 19 Haziran'da Marriotts Marquis Hotel'de yapılacak törenle açıklanacak. Adaylar inovasyon, finansal performans, kişisel başarı ve topluma fayda esasları üzerine değerlendirilecek.
Chobani, geçtiğimiz ay da Small Business Administration tarafından ödüllendirilmişti. Ernst & Young, New York bölgesindeki firmaların yarıştığı yarışmayı 26 yıldır düzenli olarak organize ediyor.
Bölgesel olarak yarışmayı kazananlar ulusal bazdaki girişimci ödülünü almak için yarışacak.
ABD'de yılın girişimcisi ödülü ise 17 Kasım 2012'de Palm Springs, California'da verilecek.
Ernst & Young'ın New Jersey bölgesinde düzenlediği yılın girişimcisi ödülünü 2008 yılında internet güvenlik şirketi Comodo'nun sahibi Melih Abdulhayoğlu kazanmıştı.
